I found my bmom 18 years ago, but she does not know the bdad. The questions I answered above, are all based on my birth father, as I have already found my birth mom, and have a relationship with her currently. My father was supposedly in Eureka California on business in the summer of 1969, and staying with a couple of friends. He met my Mom and it was a one night stand. She never heard from him again. This is what I know: Date location: Pool bar in Eureka California. Through research I believe the name was called "Bucksport". However, it was sold in the late 60s, so it could have been under new ownership of the time. It was located on fifth street, across from where Denny’s is located right now. After the date, they went to the house that he was staying with friends at. Two other men were at the house, (supposedly friends, but could have been family) but they left shortly after. Reason my birth father may have been in town: A family member had a wedding at the end of June 1969. This would have been approximately the time of my conception. Fathers last name: through some research I’ve done on my own, I have determined that his last name was Mendenhall. Through ancestry DNA, I have received that information from a 3rd cousin that I found. Fathers age: my birth mom was about 30 years old at the time, so he would have been born in approximately The years 1938-1942. Family line: i’ve determined through research that I am related to the Mendenhall family under Mordecai Marshall 1835-1910, and William Emmet 1864-1944. At that point, I don’t know if I fall under Syrl Gordon or Donald Roy Mendenhall 1912-1983. I believe that either one of them could be my grandfather. Confirmed DNA matches : I do know for sure that I am a third cousin to Betsy Vance. And a first cousin to Terry Vance Sr. However, I believe that I could be related to them under either Syrl Gordon Mendenhall or Donald Roy Mendenhall.
