Hello, I am looking for a half-brother that was given up by my mother before I was born. My Mom,s name is Gay Nell Cheshire, and she was in Conroe, Texas at the time. The story that she tells me is that she was taken to a home for unwed girls that was run by a Catholic organization in Houston, Texas. My mom,s memory is not the best right now, she says that the baby was a boy and that she gave birth there. However, my Uncle, her older brother, tells me that she was moved to Northern California after staying shortly in Houston, because of expenses. She went to live with my Great Uncle Van Veckhoven and his wife. She gave birth in a hospital there and they took the baby right away, and he was adopted, she never saw the baby. My Great Aunt and Uncle are no longer alive, I only know that they retired and lived in Venture, California until their deaths. The baby was born sometime in 1961 or 62. I believe. I was born in July of 1963. My mom said he was born a year or 2 before me. One last thing, my Mom said the baby is a boy, but my Mom is not doing particularly well with her memory. She also mentioned that the baby may have had red hair. I have no idea the month or the date, she said it may have been in the summer.
