I am searching for my birth father’s family members. I was born in Anaheim, CA in 1984. I am one of 4 children all born one year apart. I am second oldest. I have two sisters, one older and one younger. I also have a brother who is the youngest. My birth mothers name was Dana Brown and my father was David Lee Brown. From what I understand both of my parents struggled with substance abuse and were unable to care for us all. My father was a veteran. Shortly after serving in the military he got injured while working. Apparently he fell two stories off a catwalk. After that he suffered grand mal seizures as a result. He also struggled with substance abuse. Eventually he passed away around 1996. He was found passed out at a park in Anaheim. It was discovered that he had taken a significant amount of pain medication which caused an overdose. At the age of 28 I successfully found my biological mother. This led to me reuniting with her side of my family. Then a couple of years ago my sister did a 23 and me test and discovered we have half sisters on my dad’s side. So we reunited with them, but they had very limited information on his side of the family as well. They are older than us, and had already been estranged from him by the time we were born. I have struggled significantly to find any kind of information on my father’s side of the family. I feel like there is a whole side of my life missing. I would very much like to reunite with anyone from my dad’s side. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, anyone. I hope this registry yields results so that I can put those missing pieces to my puzzle together. Thank you for taking the time to get to know my story.
