My mother’s name was Elsie Richard Gale and I believe she lived in Studio City with her mother Hedwig Wienke Gale until 1945 when Hedwig died. I was born in Los Angeles in 1948 and I believe my mother kept me for 6 months before giving me up to the State of California Children’s Orphanage. Elsie and Hedwig were originally from Portland Oregon. Elsie’s father was Richard E. Gale and she had a brother Alfred Gale who died in 1989. There was another brother Eugene. I think Hedwig and Richard divorced prior to Elsie and Hedwig relocating to the LA area. Elsie was born in Portland in 1924.
