My mother‚ Joyce Davenport‚ had a daughter in the 1960's whom she placed for adoption. I’m not sure of the exact month‚ day‚ or year‚ but I know it was before she met and married my father in 1966. At the time‚ she was living in Santa Barbara‚ California. I believe the child’s first name is Kathryn‚ although I’m not certain of the spelling. I also don’t know whether she was given my mother’s maiden name at birth or immediately took the last name of her adoptive family. I’m hoping to learn more about her and‚ if possible‚ find her. I know she has reconnected with my mother sometime in the 1990s‚ but they are no longer in contact. My understanding is that my mother does not wish to reconnect‚ and I want to respect that. However‚ I would be interested in finding my half-sister and possibly connecting with her if she is open to it.
