According to the post adoption birth certificate I was born on June 5, 1966 in Oakland, Alameda county, California. I believe I was at the Children’s Society home before I was adopted. I was adopted by Leslie Allen and Shirley Larene Robinson, supposedly at three months, at least that’s what I was told. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get a straight answer on anything regarding my birth and adoption from my mother. Her stories and version of events has changed a number of times over the years, including where I was born and oddly she can’t seem to recall the name of the agency or attorney who did the adoption. My father passed away in 2011 and wasn’t able to give me any info as he had had several major strokes and was beginning to suffer from dementia associated with the stroke. I was his caretaker for the last several years of his life. He and my mother divorced when I was about 20-21. I’m no longer on speaking terms with my mother, her choice. I’d like to find out any info on my birth family, mostly because I am getting older, almost 55 , and worry about health issues. Also, I did an ancestry DNA test about a year ago and was shocked at some of the results, especially since it indicates that my adopted mother and I are biologically related, closely so. I’m not sure if she’s my birth mother, but she maybe an aunt or close cousin. I’d really like some concrete answers, especially since I know there is documented incest in her family as recently as a couple of her siblings having children with nieces/ nephews Also, I am on AncestryDNA "CurtisRobinson"
