Switched baby at hospital‚ I believe was sold by birth father. He told me after the birth at Rio Hondo Hospital that he talked with a lawyer and had the right to sell my genes. I thought he was talking about blue jeans. He clarified that he was talking about selling the baby I had just delivered. I told him‚ "No! I’m not giving up my baby. He said‚ We’ll‚ I have the right. And left. The nurses gave me papers and said I had to sign a form that said I was voluntarily giving up my baby. I thought the baby they gave me to take home was mine. But she didn’t look like the baby picture taken at the hospital a day after her birth. I commented to the nurse that she didn’t look like my baby. She said‚ babies change in the first few days. That baby picture went missing from my top dresser drawer. I raised and loved this baby girl and always thought she was my own. She grew up to look like no one in the family‚ developed a drug problem and morbid obesity and died at the age of 36. Recalling that conversation with her birth father and a life where it was clear that he did not love us‚ but did love the baby he had with another woman in conjunction with that hospital conversation‚ I think now that he trafficked my baby and the nurses gave me a switched baby. If my real biological daughter is alive‚ I am seeking her.
