Father was a railroad conductor in California went by the name "Whitey" Carpenter I believe. He had another wife and kids he had not been divorced from. He was not married to my mother but they were in a common law marriage. My mother went by the name "Lynne/Lynn/Linn"‚ possibly her name was actually Eleanor. I suspect that her maiden name was actually White and his last name was Carpenter. It seems he may have went by her maiden name as a first nickname possibly because he was still married to another woman. There believe there were other children and I suspect I was given up for adoption because he already had a family and they could not take care of me financially as well as having a baby out of wedlock or being the other woman in 1954 would have been found societally unacceptable. I was adopted by the Anderson’s.
