I was placed up for adoption when I was a baby - my mother elected to do so before I was born. On Dec 24th, 1984, I was born at the Naval Hospital in Long Beach, California, to a woman in the Marine Corps whose first name was Lisa, who was I think 21 at the time. I was in foster care until April while we waited for my biological father’s (a man called Dal?) parental rights to expire. My adoption was done through the Children’s Home Society back when they did adoptions. My parents told me they met her, and she chose them because they were both teachers, and because my mom was Hispanic like she was. They said she was very nice, she wore glasses like I do. They always spoke very highly of her, and were very open with me about my being adopted - something I always appreciated them for. My mother passed away three years ago from ovarian cancer, and since then I’d really like to meet my birth mother to have some closure and at least know what she looks like. The adoption left contact open, but I figured I would try here. So Lisa, if you’re out there... hi, my name is Lauren, and I’d like to meet you.
