My Grandmother Merle Gallagher had a brother named Thomas Gallagher who was born in 1923 in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Their mother Betty “Bessie” died in 1924 in Canada. Their father Matthew Gallagher worked for the railroad & travelled, so his children were left in the care of friends. Census records show they were naturalized to the US in Washington state in 1925 and they were placed in Children’s home of Stockton (California) in 1930 with their siblings Doris & Fay. Their father remarried in 1930 and took the girls back to Canada, but Thomas was 7 yrs old and already adopted. They never found him.
