My mother was unmarried in the late 60’s when she became pregnant in California while working as a substitute teacher. Her father in Colorado nearly disowned her‚ so she stayed with her aunt in Northern California until the birth‚ before returning to her family home. She met my father and married him in June/Nov 1970‚ so the birth could not have happened after June 1970. (the earliest would have been 1967‚ but my hunch is that it was early in 1970) The adoption was private‚ and a Christian Science Teacher was involved in connecting the families. It might have been Arthur Wuth - he was one of my parent’s CS teachers‚ but has since passed.
