The adoptive name was Debra Jill Bruber. July 10 1954 is the birthday we have for her. We have no clue if it is accurate. This is my children’s grandmother. We were told by living members of her adoptive family that it was not an above board adulation. The victor Paul Bruber and his wife Irene Bruber both deceased owned a bar. A woman came in with a baby looking for money to buy a bus ticket. Victor told his family he offered the money for the bus ticket for the baby as they had no children. She agreed. She did later return to retrieve her daughter but was told no. We have nothing no records and Debra herself has passed but we would really like to find her birth family and hear their side. We don’t know if Victors telling was true but he was not a nice man or good father. I think it is quite possible she did not know she wouldn’t get her child back. This would have been San Francisco California area 1954.
