I am searching for my biological Aunt. My Grandmother had a baby girl that she had to give up for adoption. We believe it may have been between the years 1946 and 1955. We do not have birth information as to month/date/year. My Grandma lived on Herrin Street in Redondo Beach, California so the birth and adoption most likely would have taken place in Los Angeles County and may have been in Redondo Beach, Torrance, Manhattan Beach area. The doctor’s name was Dr. Michaels (unk first name). We do not know if she went directly to a family home or if she was held somewhere before being adopted but we are sure that she was given up directly from birth. My Grandmother’s maiden name was Evelyn May Burgess. She was divorced so her name would have been Melback. I’m not sure if Melback or Burgess would have been listed as her name on the birth certificate. The birth father may have had the last name of Alleman, Vandenberg or even Farrington possibly or none of these. We were told the birth father was a neighbor boy and these were the only ones that fit the description living there at the same time.
