Deanna was adopted in 1999 or 2000. She was born at Kaiser Permanente in Bellflower CA. Not long before her first birthday‚ she pulled on the cord to an electric skillet that was hanging off of the kitchen counter. The oil in the skillet spilled down onto her head and neck. She was hospitalized and treated with a skin graft and although most of the damage was so light it would probably not even be noticeable any more‚ she might still have light burn scars on her neck. She was taken in to CPS custody in San Bernardino in mid 99. Since 2 of our brothers had already been adopted out thru CPS‚ the state refused to offer my mother a reunification plan. We later heard that she had been adopted by a member of law enforcement‚ but I’m unsure where that info came from so I can’t be sure that it was reliable.
