I was adopted in Belo Horizonte‚ Brazil by my American parents Darrel Martin Davis and Judith Grace Davis in February 1973. My birth mother’s name was Lazara Catarina Da Silva. This was a private adoption without the use of an agency. She had not named me at birth so when I was 3 months old my American parents named me and a birth certificate as issued at the same time the adoption papers were signed at the court house. My mother told my parents my father had left before I was born. I don’t have a name for my father. My mother was supposedly 22 years old when I was born and had another child (a boy) who was about 2-3 years old.
