My birth mother was a waitress at a hotel in the Pukekohe area‚ Auckland‚ New Zealand in the 1950s. I believe she was about 19 when she gave birth to me. I understand that she may have had an affair and thus became pregnant. She was English‚ my birth father Yugoslav. I was born on 14 June 1956. I believe my original name was Jennifer Lynette Crowther (or Lowther). My birth mother continued working and looking after me but finally gave me up for adoption when I was approximately 18 months old. It is understood that she met a man‚ he asked her to marry him but wanted my birth mother to give me up for adoption. My adoptive parents were a Karl and Ailsa Grossmann. My adoptive father was Swiss‚ my adoptive mother a New Zealander. They were sharemilking at Ngarua in the late 1950s. My adoptive parents moved to Whangarei early 1960 however my birth mother quite possibly would not have known this. I have always wondered about my birth mother and birth father. Where are they now??? Do I have half brothers and sisters.
