I am looking for my half sister‚ whom my mother gave up for adoption at birth. At the time‚ she was 17 and living at an unwed mother’s home. Because she had already decided not to keep the baby‚ they sedated her for the birth and let her have no contact so she wouldn’t get attached. She gave her the name Aimee Renee and always wondered about her. She received a photograph of her from the adoption agency given to them by the adoptive parents when the baby was about 10 months old but as it was a closed adoption‚ we have no other information. I believe my mother has not searched for her partly because she’s never forgiven herself for giving up her child‚ although I’m sure she knows it was the best thing for her at the time.
