My Mother‚ Karen Dolan (dob 03/14/1958) was at the Salvation Army Home for Unwed Mothers and gave birth to a baby boy. I believe she was 15 at the time (so 1973)‚ but could have been 14 or 16. I believe the baby was born in October (not 100% sure). He was adopted. The couple may have lived in Montgomery‚ Alabama‚ but he was definitely born in Birmingham‚ Alabama.
