Our mother’s name was Barbara Christine Smith and father is John Ioannou. Grandmother Enid Smith/Hickson was involved with the adoption. I was born 1969 brother was apparently no more than 18 months older than me so reckon he was born between Jan-Aug 1968.

Searchlight : I am female, born on the 6th Feb 1969 in Lusaka, Africa, I was adopted by UK parents and came to live in the UK at around 15 months old, I understand my Birth Mother was very young when she had me but was also from the UK perhaps Sutton Coldfield, but not 100% sure, she was working in Africa when she gave birth to me. I was told she requested I was brought up in a Catholic family but not 100% sure if true. I have had a lovely life and have a lovely Family of my own now and a beautiful Grandson. i would just love to find my birth mum or at least just let her know she has always been in my heart and I have nothing but love to give.
