22. SanimaiyaNepal : To whom it may concern‚
I am looking for information about my biological family and my origins.
My name is Sanimaiya Balika (the surname "Balika" was likely given to me at the orphanage). I was adopted in August 2004 by an Italian family from Bergamo. According to my official documents‚ I was found in the street by the police in February 2004‚ and my estimated date of birth is February 10th‚ 2000. However‚ my personal memories and some reports from my parents suggest a different story.
Key details:Place of origin: Chautara (Sindhupalchok District).Biological Family: I remember having a sister named Fullmaiya Balika (Phulmaya) and other brothers. I recall my mother taking me to the orphanage‚ possibly via helicopter.Memories of the place: I remember a main straight road with houses (flat roofs) and a market. I also have a strong memory of a large suspension bridge and a river/lake nearby.I am looking for any information regarding my sister Fullmaiya‚ my mother‚ or any relatives who might remember a girl sent to an orphanage from Chautara in early 2004.
Thank you for any help you can provide
I was matched with my birth mother just minutes after setting up my profile. It turns out that she had been searching for me for years. It's been a joy to connect with her and the rest of my biological family.
