I was born 08.20.78 in the Dominican Republic in "El Hospital Universitario Materniad Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia (HUMNSA)". I was placed in an orphanage (unknown) in Arroyo Hondo‚ Dominican Republic. According to my adoptive parent’s there was a "fire" in the orphanage. They have no recollection of the name of the orphanage nor location.
I was adopted at 6 months. I came to the United States when I was 1 year old‚ 05.23.79.
I learned about my adoption in elementary school at 10 years old.
In 2008‚ I co-founded the Adoption Circle for Women of Color. The mission is to create a safe forum and enable women of Color adoptees to share their journey and personal experience towards self-disvovery and solidarity. We have NYC‚ MA and CT chapters.
