121. JoBrookes : My father was working at Princess Margaret Hospital when he had a child with a Nurse who was working at the hospital at the same time. The child was put up for adoption. I met this nurse when I was 30. She was the admitting nurse at Osborne Park hospital at this time where I was also working. We got on really well until she asked me my maiden name. When she found out she put 2 & 2 together as to why I seemed so familiar to her, she walked away and avoided me after this. I told my my mum about this and that is when my mum told me that my dad had an adopted child with a nurse with the same name (Wendy) . I felt really sorry for her and wanted to speak to her about what happened but she didn’t want to talk to me. The adoption must have been really painful for her. I was told she never married or had other children. I never found out if my sibling was a girl or a boy or any other information. I know I also have a half brother in England before my father emigrated to Australia. I know his name and his mothers name but that is all. My parents were married in July 1955 so the child (in Perth) was conceived before this but I am not sure how long before. I am a female and was born in 1959
