97. Gregory1967 : Looking for the biological mother and father’s relatives of my grandmother Violet May (Molly) Holiway. Born to Annie Holiway 17th May 1916 at 28 Hansen St Wellington New Zealand. We do not know if the bio-mother’s name is her real name or an alias. She is listed as being aged 22 at the time of the birth and from Auckland. Through the Ancestry website we think we have identified Violet’s biological father as Richard Thomas Polglase (1874-1929). We have hit a dead-end with Violet’s biological mother however. Violet was adopted by members of the Salvation Army Church from Christchurch NZ‚ Francis Arthur Huston & Ellis Mary Butterick. We think Violet was adopted at around age 7 but we don’t know for sure.

I do remember being able to bottle feed him. After 18 years‚ I received a letter from the Department of Social Welfare letting me know there had been no contact from him as I had rung on his 18th birthday to leave information for him. They did let me know when they had last visited James Patrick (his adopted name) he had settled in well and was a happy and dearly loved wee chap. His parents were Patrick and Stephanie. They were aged 25 and 26 and had been married for 2 years when they adopted him.
