47. Aneen : My mother was adopted, her birth date was 19 June 1945, she was born in Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand. Her birth name was Helen Patricia Carlson, and her birth mother was Gladys Alma Carlson. I believe my mother may have had a twin sister, who I bumped into around 2002/2003, in Auckland. My mother has no idea of this encounter, and I would like to try and confirm it before I tell her anything. My mother’s name is now Lynette Carol McOnie, and she lives in Pukekohe, Auckland, New Zealand. Mum did meet her birth mother, and Gladys’ 2 children Carol and Paul Johnston. Both of these siblings were unable to provide any more details, or even who mum’s birth father was. Gladys did not want to name the father.

They were kind caring and loving, but i know mum really wanted me to find my birth parents so i still had family when they were gone. Both have passed know and felt it was time. I was born with a scar on my head, told due to medical mishap at birth, only by sight that you can’t see has caused no problems. The only things my mum told me was i came from a family that were not happy about their daughter getting pregnant as she was very good at tennis, and could make a living out of it. Thanks Sue

Her mother (my Grandmother) was Irene Thelma Ward born in Kaiapoi in 1917 and died in 1986 She has a brother my Dad who was born David Frederick. Father’s name unknown and was adopted out and his name was changed to Owen Patrick Barriball. I have been lead to believe there are 6 children in total

My Dad was born in 1953 in Stratford NZ and named David Frederick father was unknown and when adopted out his name became Owen Patrick Barriball.
54. Alabaster : Dulcie Cook/e (nee Roebuck) is my maternal birth grandmother. She had my mother in August 1952 in Bowns Bay, Auckland. I have listed Dulcie’s birth year as 1935 but that is a educated guess only. I believe she grew up in Taranaki somewhere. I believe she had a son also tho not sure if he’s older or younger. I also think she/they are living in or have lived in Perth, Australia for many years.

57. KJMillar : Searching for Birth Parentsor siblings or family of boy born March 28, 1956 in Lower Hutt. Brown hair as an adult, blue eyes. Was adopted by loving family when boy was 18 months - two years old maybe in 1957/58. Have heard child lived with birth mother until approx 12 - 18 months old and was placed for adoption as her circumstances changed. Child may have had original name similar to Garth or Gareth. PLEASE contact if you know anything. Do not have original birth certificate or names of birth parents as now living in Canada.
58. Helen50 : I am looking for children of Robert John Mead. Robert lived in Levin in the 60s and 70s. So far there are 4 boys to the woman Robert married and 3 adopted children, we are aware that there is at least 2 more children out there somewhere. The information we have is Chic-France probably born before 1965 and Roxanne-China probably born between 1969 and 1970. I have no idea how accurate this information is as it was discovered on a piece of paper after Roberts death.

A story that we have heard that may or may not be true is that he was adopted from one of the nurses that Joyce worked with in Wellington that was pregnant out of wedlock.
