125. Shutzy : I am interested to know who my Mother’s birth family were. She was "advertised" in the Salvation Army newsletter shortly after she was born in March 1917 in Adelaide. My grandparents officially adopted her when she was 9 years old, even though they had her from a baby. I gather her my Mother’s birth Mother was only 16 at the time.

126. Maryanneryan : Dorothea Terese was adopted by Teresa (nee Sutton) and Tom KEEGAN as a baby. Her date of birth is unknown. She married WIlliam ’Bill’ Matthias RYAN 20 Feb 1933, and her registration shows that she was 25 at that time. She lived in the Mid north - Laura, Peterborough, and had close friends in Port Pirie. Her youngest son Peter Ryan is keen to find out who his late Mother’s birth parents were. He has nothing apart from the marriage cert. to prove her age i.e. date of birth. Dorothea died on 6 March 1957, and her age at that time was registered as 47..... which gives a birth year of 1910!

But when I left and got married I changed my name from Janice Buckly to Janice Ryan. All I ask if for maybe something of someone whom may be still alive from the orphanage I was at. I know this isn’t much to go off and may be difficult. But any results would be appreciated.

129. Annette185 : I am seeking my birth father. My mother is Margaret Elies born in South Australia, Australia and she is from South Kilkerran on Yorke Peninsula. She was working at Emmanuel Lutheran College in Walkerville, Adelaide. She was a domestic at the time. My father was travelling around she tells me. She tells me he is German (Bavarian) and has a nice name. They were in a relationship at the time. When he heard she was pregnant she claims he got on a ship and left Adelaide. I was born in the maternity hospital at Kate Cocks Baby home and adopted from this same baby home. My mother went by the name of Barbara in this baby home. She has a sister named Ruth who also gave birth to a girl 6 months after I was born in the same baby home. My aunt named her daughter Veronica. She now goes by the name of Jennifer her surname is either Reece or Wilson. Ruth my mothers sister was working at the Caledonian Society in North Adelaide at the time when she got pregnant. Any assistance will be much appreciated in helping me find my father.

130. MissFaye : Looking for my father & any siblings.
I was told by my birth mother Lois Smith that she knew him as Jodie (possibly short for Joseph), surname Talbott. He was blonde with blue eyes, worked as a builders labourer around Port Adelaide, Glenelg areas in 1966.
Through my research some years ago I did find a Joseph Talbott living in regional Victoria Wimmera area who was a developer. They were also quite keen environmentalists apparently & volunteered in revegetation activities etc in their area. I emailed his wife who was working in some sort of education facility at the time but never received any reply.
I doubt very much that my father would even know I exist as my mother never had anything further to do with him. I have met my half sister & a half brother on my mother’s side & we have remained in contact for many years now. So I would really love to meet any other siblings if they are interested.
