127. Allison17097643821 : ********TWINS SEPARATED AT BIRTH***********
My mother was born, APRIL 3/1951.
Her twin sister was placed up for adoption.
(They didn’t expect twins)
They were born in St.John’s Newfoundland in a home for unwed mothers. My mother wasn’t expected to survive we believe as she was only 3 pounds so she was placed in the Grace Hospital. Her twin sister went up for adoption....when my mother was well enough her grandmother took her home and raised her as her own and she was never told she had a twin sister....
While growing up she would overhear her Grandparents talk about her “sister” and my mother knew her birth mother only had 1 child (her) (Her natural mother never had any other children)
My mother asked her grandmother to please tell her about this sister that she heard them secretly speak of several times and her grandmother told her finally that her sister died at birth..,,,,( NOT TRUE)
Fast forward 50 years—— my mother was looking for her original birth certificate when she was about to retire from her job and she went to two different places where she thought her original birth certificate could be,,
1-the place where unwed mothers files were kept. They took her information and said they will call her if they find it.
2. Grace hospital, they also took her information and said they will call if they find it.
Next day the place where unwed mothers had their babies called and said they have my mothers birth certificate.... we got it but they told us there must’ve been a mistake when it was put in the files because everything matches except the “”first name””.....
Date of birth was right, mothers name was correct and the christening date was on it as well.
The first name was Marie, not Linda which is my mom’s name. but they told us there must’ve been a mistake when it was put in the files because everything matches except the first name.
Confusing right???
The proof
So my mother took it and said that it must’ve just been a mistake like she said.
One hour later the Other place called where they hold the birth certificates for the old Grace hospital.
🤷♀️
Of course being confused we went to pick it up or to see what was going on and sure enough it was my mothers correct birth certificate. Her name, birthdate, mothers name was all correct.
So now we had two Birth certificates in our hands for my mother but GUESS WHAT... They both have the same mother and they were both born on the same day but they were both christened on “”different days and in different places.””
THIS IS HER TWIN SISTERS, “BIRTH CERTIFICATE” in her hands.
My mother’s twin sister was christened in the Catholic church before she was put up for adoption. The only thing that is different on both certificates is their first names and the christening dates and the place they got christened a different.
Not only did my mother overhear her grandparents secretly Speak about this unknown sister that she never knew existed... now she finds out in her 60s that the secret sister was a twin....yes
..... THE SECRET SISTER WAS HER TWIN.......
So here we are today and all files are sealed and they won’t tell us anything about the adoption. WOW
So obviously my mother’s twin sister was christened In the Catholic Church before she was put up for adoption. Makes sense as they are Catholics who make sure your family is Christened in the Catholic Church. I don’t know if that made them feel better but hiding secrets like you have a twin sister out there somewhere I don’t believe it’s in the Bible anywhere....
I hope someone out there can help me solve this mystery as secrets don’t need to be kept these days like they did in the past and it’s not a crime or is it a shameful thing to have a baby outside a marriage.
Myself and my sister and my mom did the DNA and guess what, I found out who her father was that she was never told either. (No surprise right)
He was a service man from Alpena Michigan Who was stationed in Newfoundland, in my mothers community In 1950.
Our relatives from the United States was messaging us back and forth trying to figure out this puzzle. We came up to closest to one of them is second cousins and she kind of figured out who my mother’s father was. Guess what, he was still alive but not well as he was dying of cancer. They quickly got his 85-year-old sister to do a DNA test to make sure that he was my mother’s father. They didn’t want to tell him until they were sure as he was not doing very well and didn’t want to upset him. A couple of months later the results came back and the 85-year-old woman What is the closest match in DNA to my mother after myself and my sister. Even her other family here in Newfoundland wasn’t as close matched in DNA is this lady from the United States was.
It was confirmed that this 88-year-old dying man was my mothers natural father as he was the only one who was ever in Newfoundland and they knew he was definitely in Newfoundland in 1950.
The heartbreaking fact about this story is my mothers father, my grandfather whom we never knew diet just weeks before the results came in😢
Myself and my sister a few months later took my mom and three flights to Alpena Michigan to meet her new family. It was nice to see pictures of my grandfather and to see and hear about the similarities between him and my mom and even with my children who are both left-handed. So is he.
So in our search so far, my mother’s twin sister we didn’t find .... we did find her father who never had any children, so he thought. But he died 1 month before the DNA was confirmed...
We are at a standstill right now and hope someone can help us figure out this
.
