A Few of Our Members Currently Searching Within Essex Who Chose To Be Featured
31. Richie3691 : Pauline was my birth Mum, from Barking in Essex in England... She called me Douglas (John) at birth...and then I was adopted and moved to Norfolk... I believe that my Father was named John. I was actually born in a mother and baby home in Basildon... My adoptive parents were named Betty and Ralph.
My birth Mum Pauline asked for photographs of me until the age of 5 - my adoptive parents sent her letters and pictures in response to her requests every year... This was managed by the adoption society which organised the adoption, and all communication was organised via them - so nothing was sent direct.
When I was 5, the adoption society decided this should stop and duly made that happen. And all connection was lost. The adoption society has long since closed.
