I believe my birth parents were students in London and did not intend to marry, so they gave me up for adoption. My adoptive parents were from Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire (now Thameside) and lived nearby in Stockport. I had a very happy childhood and was very close to my adoptive parents and my sister (also adopted, from different birth parents). I would like my birth parents to know that they made the right decision and to thank them for giving me the opportunity to grow up with such a loving family.
