39. Birtukan : I am looking for my siblings, I believe I have 1 younger brother and sister, and I have an older brother and sister. I remember being in an orphanage with my younger sister and she got adopted. I was adopted some years later, at the age of 8. I was adopted by an American family. I am not certain of my age, or my birth name. I do carry the name Birtukan. I don’t know where exactly I am from in Ethiopia. All I remember is that we were from some tribe (I have some scars showing this), we lived in a hut and were very poor. We did not have running water or anything. If you recognize anything in my story, I would love to hear from you.

41. Elsabet : Hello my name is Liz Fikru I was born in Ethiopia. My sister was given up for adoption at the age of only three months from Black Lion hospital. Her name being ALMAZ ZEBERGA. The people who adopted her may have given her a different name but this is the one I was told she was given. It was around the years 1973-1974 I don’t remember as I was only 5 or 6 years old if I remember clearly. She was taken to Sweden if I remember clearly. I’ve asked my dad, Fikru he doesn’t remember much but this is all he could remember. I think about her all time. Please message me if you have any information on my sister I think about her daily.

Zekarias : Lost child through adoption:- The person I am contacting you about is a family member who, born in 1970, was found suckling her dead mother in the village of Ona (Keren), Eritrea, after a massacre in an armed conflict for independence of Eritrea. The name of the child was Tirhas Ghide Tesfu (can also be written as Trhas or Terhas, and Gide or Gde) later named by her adoptive parents as Terry (if the information I have is correct). At the beginning, the child was cared for by children’s care center, called Lalmba, in Keren, Eritrea, opened by Mr Hugh Downey, a veteran from the then American Kagnew station (in Asmara). It was from this care center that the child was adopted. Lalmba children’s care center lawfully arranged for the child to be adopted by a visiting American couple from Kagnew station a black American soldier with his wife (1972?). Since then, the child’s biological family did not establish contact with the child, with the adoptive parents and Lalmba organization does not have any information or record about the adoption.
