Her adoptive parents were Emanuel and Rica Stier(jewish family) from Romania living in Santiago at the time. She lived in Chile until she was 13 and moved to San Francisco. Her adoption was unknown until recently. She was likely of indigenous decent (her children are half Native Chilean Indian according to DNA findings). 89. MayaK82 : I was told I was adopted from a Church in Santiago, in December 1982.
My adopted mother, was traveling by herself to Chile, and I as a child I saw photos of her with Nuns, in front of a large cathedral gate. In one of the photos my adopted mother is holding me and I look to be a newborn baby, only a few weeks old.
I was adopted to New South Wales, but my Australian birth certificate was not issued until many years later (approx 15-16 years) in Queensland.
I believe I was adopted very young, as my adopted mother’s name and my adopted father’s name were printed on my original paperwork, however since my adopted mother died, I lost access to all my information and paperwork.
I recently found an article about the stolen children from Chile, and am searching for any potential family, immediate or extended.
